Import highlights and notes from My Clippings.txt

How to get My Clippings.txt

Option A — Kindle Device (USB)

  1. 1Connect your Kindle to your computer with a USB cable
  2. 2Open the Kindle in Finder (Mac) or Explorer (Windows) — it appears as a removable drive
  3. 3Navigate to the "documents" folder on the Kindle
  4. 4Copy "My Clippings.txt" to your desktop
  5. 5Upload it on the next screen

Option B — Kindle Cloud (read.amazon.com)

  1. 1Visit read.amazon.com/notebook and sign in
  2. 2Use the Kindle Highlights Exporter extension to export as .txt
  3. 3Upload the exported file on the next screen
Amazon limit: Kindle highlights are capped at 10% of a book's content. Some books may show fewer highlights than expected.
